Importance of Getting Your Prescription Eyeglasses Adjusted Regularly:
Adjusting your eyeglasses on a regular basis is very important and here I’ll explain why. One of the most common problems that we come across is that the screws will eventually work their way loose as time passes. Many eyeglasses- wearers get upset and return the prescription eyeglasses with lenses falling off or with the temple arm separated from the frame. Thus it is important to check the screws of the frame or visit a local optical store on a regular basis.
The other common problem with eyeglasses is that the glasses tend to slide down as you turn your head or look down to do some work. This happens because the frames tend to widen in due course of time due to the pressure applied on it. This can be easily fixed. It is advisable that you take your glasses for adjustment as soon as you feel that the glasses are loose to avoid the lenses from getting scratched, or even chipped, as a result of them falling off.
At times, you may also realize that the frame sits crooked on your face which can actually alter or change your prescription slightly. This causes double /blurry vision, and sometimes headache. Such a crooked frame also affects your appearance. Hence it is important that you adjust your frame to avoid vision problem and enhance your appearance.
No matter how careful you are with your prescription eyeglasses you will notice that the nose pads (if the glasses have them) get old, and become unhygienic. It is recommended that you change the nose pads as soon as you realize that the pads are getting discolored. Most of the stores do the replacement for free. However, you can always request for extra nose pads at the time of purchase of the eyeglasses to avoid any additional changes later for replacement.
All in all there is no reason as to why you should not get your eyeglasses adjusted regularly. Most of the stores offer free service, or may charge you a nominal fee for servicing. But it is highly beneficial to get your eyeglasses adjusted and serviced regularly.
